Halloween
Reuse one of your costumes from a previous year or different holiday
When you think like a real Coupon Expert you will be saving your costumes and re-using them every couple of years. Classic costumes such as a pilot, a nurse or doctor or a fireman are always in fashion. These costumes are very flexible and you can often go every couple years wearing them different places. If you were a regular doctor last year, then you can mix it up and be a zombie doctor this year. Likewise, this can be done with costumes meant for another holiday such as New Year’s Eve masks and St. Patty’s Day beads. This time of year put your imagination to use and anything can be a costume.

Never underestimate the power of a good wig

You can go to a costume store or shop online and get a wig for pretty cheap that will complement any outfit and would ultimately transform you into someone else for the evening. Get crazy with some blue or green hair and throw on a 1980s looking outfit and you’re set to go. To step it up a notch you can also use makeup or other face paint which we’ll talk about in this post as well
Use face paint kits and makeup for a great look
You can always go as the classic zombie or vampire with some of these face makeup kits. Add to that was some tattered clothing and you can really have a great look for Halloween. These kids are often cheap online at only a few dollars and will come off with water at the end of the evening. Bonus tip you can use some blood capsules and ruin one of your older t-shirts to make it look like you were attacked and you’re turning into a werewolf or something scary.
Dress up like an athlete
Do you own a pair of shorts some long socks and a headband? With just those few items you can be a professional basketball player. If you have an old football helmet lying around in the garage somewhere you can go as a professional football player with a little help from a shirt with custom numbers and name on the back. Do a quick internet search for some of your favorite athletes and see if you have anything around the house that looks like their outfits.
Recycle cardboard boxes to create your outfit
We get packages throughout the month that coming giant cardboard boxes if you save some of them before Halloween you can use them to help make a costume. Friends of our website have designed costumes where they used cardboard as a head of a dragon and then used some old bed sheets as the dragon’s flowing body. The entire family painted it with various symbols that the kids wanted to have on it. The two kids made the dragon move together down the street as they went house to house and dad was stuck as the dragon wrangler all night. Even something simple like a robot or a Rubik’s Cube (if you’re old enough to know what this is good for you) can be made out of simple cardboard boxes and paint.
