Look for items you already have around your house
Chances are that you already have some items around your house that can be incorporated into a Halloween themed party. You might be one of those folks that has an orange tablecloth or maybe some black lights that can be repurposed into terrific Halloween decorations. There’s so many items around your house every day that will help add some character to your party. Look for fall themes or black items that can be used for your party.

Make it before you buy it
All of the Halloween decorations that you buy at the store are pre-made. Take a real hard look at those decorations you’re planning on getting and see if there’s any way you can make them from everyday items around your house. You can use yarn, string, tape, and trace letters in order to make a great Halloween Banner. Use liquid glue and food dye to make a great slime which you can put on various places in your home. Our friends at Coupons.com have a great article with tips on how to host a Halloween party on any budget using some simple planning and creative DIY ideas.
Borrow items from your family and friends
There might be some people in your family or friends that you know with extra Halloween decorations or items that they’re willing to spare. At least if you get one or two items from a few people, then that might really help bring out the Halloween theme for your party. It will only cost you an invite to the party and that is still cheaper than going to the store.
Have each of your guests bring a dish to the party
Just because you’re hosting doesn’t mean you have to be stuck with the bill for the food. You shouldn’t see any problem and asking your guests to bring a small contribution to the party in the form of their favorite food dish. You can be responsible for the main course if you choose but let them all bring a Halloween themed dish to contribute to the wonderful party you’re putting together. The party guests will have a good time creating their dish and bringing it to the party for everyone else to taste. You can even do a vote and see who has the best dish and they might win a special prize (Hint: it will most likely be Halloween candy).

Search Online for Halloween DIY party themes
The internet is full of genius ideas to make Halloween decorations for super cheap. Just a quick online search and you should be inspired by dozens of different decoration designs from ordinary household items. These ideas make decorating for Halloween affordable and fun for everyone in the house.
